Core Summary: SleepPulse is an offline-first mobile application. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any of your personal data, logs, audio habits, or device identifiers. Everything you do remains strictly on your personal device.
1. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal data.
No account creation, email address, or phone number is required.
We do not record audio, monitor background conversations, or access your microphone.
We do not collect advertising identifiers (GAID/IDFA), IP addresses, or device location.
No tracking cookies, analytics SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics), or telemetry libraries are bundled into the app.
2. Local Storage and Data Persistence
All application state—including your custom ambient soundscape mixes, gentle alarm preferences, and 7-day sleep journal entries—is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences).
This data never leaves your device.
We do not operate cloud servers, synchronization databases, or third-party storage backends.
Cloud backups for app data are disabled by default.
3. Device Permissions & How They Are Used
SleepPulse requests only the minimum OS permissions necessary to function as an alarm clock and audio player:
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM: Used solely to trigger your configured morning alarm at your exact requested time.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used on Android 13+ to display active alarm alerts and playback controls in your notification shade.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE / MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Allows relaxing ambient audio to continue playing continuously while your screen is turned off or when using other apps.
Device Motion Sensors (Accelerometer): If you choose the optional "Shake to Wake" alarm challenge, device motion is monitored locally in real-time to detect physical movement. Sensor data is processed entirely in device memory and is never recorded or saved.
4. Third-Party Services and Analytics
SleepPulse contains:
Zero third-party advertising SDKs
Zero analytics or crash telemetry trackers
Zero third-party tracking scripts
No user data is ever shared with, sold to, or monetized by third parties.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliant)
Because SleepPulse does not collect any personal data from any user, it does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal data from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The app is safe for users of all ages.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded to remote servers:
You can delete your sleep logs at any time directly within the app settings.
Clearing the app's storage or cache in your Android system settings immediately and permanently deletes all records.
Uninstalling the app completely removes all data from your device.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this policy to reflect app enhancements or legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted to this page with an updated "Effective Date."
